Baby Badgers

From an early age babies are constantly developing. They explore and begin to get an idea of what their world is like....

The Baby unit is a self contained purpose built building. There is a separate sleep room, play room and nappy changing area. The unit is equipped with soft furnishings and rugs to create a homely environment to enable your child to feel comfortable, safe and secure. The Baby Unit has under floor heating making floor play a more enjoyable experience.

In Baby Badgers we work on a ‘Key worker’ system, therefore each child is assigned their own nursery nurse who will work closely with them developing positive relationships and promoting development.

Our routine is flexible which enables us to fit in with what is already established at home. We endeavour to work with you respecting your child’s feeding and sleeping patterns. We work in partnership with parents during weaning and encourage older babies to feed themselves. We cater for all dietary requirements as well as any special dietary needs.

The majority of the day in Baby Badgers is comprised of a variety of activities. Staff plan activities based on individual children’s needs to stimulate learning and development. The babies have the opportunity to explore different experiences everyday such as sand, water, gloop, yoghurt and paint. Staff promote adult led constructive learning and encourage opportunities for exploration.

We also have access to our own play area with a canopy, as well as the main communal outdoor area. We have lots of prams enabling the babies to enjoy walks around the local village and trips to the local park.
