Red Robins

Age range 3 – 4yrs

Free Funding for 3 & 4 year olds

The Red Robins have their own access into the nursery via a side door with a monitor and door buzzer.

Children in the Red Robins are encouraged to be independent and are involved in the decision making process.

Quiet areas are provided and children have free access to mark making materials and tools allowing them to explore and learn.

Positive social skills are encouraged and the children enjoy balanced opportunities for self initiated play as well as adult led activities.

To develop early I.T skills, children have access to a computer. They are encouraged to develop skills such as mouse control, working together and operating simple programs. Other I.T resources include digital cameras, video cameras, calculators and interactive toys.

Numeracy is promoted through simple counting games, problem solving games involving shapes, quantities, addition and subtraction.

At Badger's Barn we work in close partnership with local schools and reception teachers to aid a seamless transition into mainstream school.

Your child will qualify for free sessions through the Early Years Foundation Stage Grant (known as the EYFSG) the first term after their third birthday. Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWAC) make a contribution towards the cost of childcare by means of this grant.

As a registered provider with CWAC and Ofsted we can claim this entitlement on your behalf. In order to claim for your free sessions you must complete and sign the parental declaration form. This will be given to you by your child’s key worker.
