Badger's Barn is a starting point to a child’s learning and staff encourage the children in exploratory play, role play and creative play as well as open-ended and physical play.

Play is experimental and there is no right or wrong outcome. Staff celebrate what the children can do rather than what they can't. Practitioners ask questions in a non-judgmental way, thus fostering a safe environment. This positive ethos creates a positive self image and children will be more likely to make choices and extend their learning and experiences making them independent and competent learners.
All the team have a clear understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and are enthusiastic in developing their knowledge and implementing good practice for all children. Staff observe, plan and assess each child for their next steps of development and incorporate children’s individual interests to make learning more fun and relevant.
Badger's Barn also works in partnership with multi-agencies such as The Childrens Workforce Development Council, Children and Families Services, local schools, speech therapists and special educational needs co-ordinators, to help improve the quality of outcomes for all children.
