The Yellow Ducks are situated in the main pre-school building. They also have access to an outside secured decking area which is shaded with a canopy. Free access to outdoor resources is readily available.
Staff work closely with the children to provide activities based around their individual needs and interests. They are given opportunities to explore their surroundings and learn from their experiences.
The children are encouraged to take their next step to independence by doing simple tasks such as using a beaker and feeding themselves. They begin to develop an understanding and awareness of themselves and discover more about what they like and dislike.
Children are encouraged to communicate and listen by interacting with each other through singing, stories and circle time. Visual aids around the room become a focal point of interest for children to build a basis of language and communication.
